Need More Energy this Winter?
Ever thought about the fact that you spend so much of your life at work? And it doesn’t matter what kind of work you do, from the retail environment, to the office or doctor’s surgery, all work places can be enhanced by using essential oils.
I know myself; the demands of owning a business are enormous. So anything I can do to create a more relaxed and productive environment the better.
You know how after lunch some days you just feel like curling up and having a nanna nap or a power nap. The application of essential oils into the work environment is very easy and can help to energise and refresh you. Even today, after having a bit of a fall, I reached straight for a bottle of Serenity Energy Oil to nurse some gravel rash as essential oils have great anti-bacterial properties. Can't really do much for your pride though but I'm sure I provided enough entertainment for all of those who saw me trip!
We know that Basil and Lemon essential oils are classed as mental stimulants. A study was published in 1988, called Lemon Fragrance Increases Office Efficiency. Where Lemon essential oil was vaporised into the air at a bank, this was found to reduce typing errors by 54 per cent. The improved efficiency saved time and money.
On the subtle emotional level, Lemon essential oil can be used to help people become more rational, focused and clear in their decision-making.
Basil helps to stimulate and clear the mind. This can help to relieve mental fatigue and give the mind clarity.
Peppermint oil also helps people become clear headed and refreshed. Great for anyone who is having trouble concentrating or is suffering from mental fatigue.
These 3 oils would be ideal for use in the office, conference room, or when driving long distances. We have created an Energy oil called Focus. It contains Lemon, Basil, Peppermint, Black Pepper and Rosemary essential oils. I absolutely love this blend when we travel as it is so refreshing, it's an added bonus that our car always smells nice too!
Within the workplace, essential oils can be incorporated to enhance the atmosphere for the workers and clients and therefore benefit the business. Using oils in the retail environment to encourage people to spend more is a hot topic lately. I recently read an article that claims Casinos are dispersing Lavender oil through their airconditioning systems to relax gamblers in an attempt to encourage them to stay at the tables longer.
I don’t agree that the oils can influence anyone to spend their money, but if you create a pleasant environment then people might browse longer and spend more money.
We also have a new range of herbal supplements called Fusion Health, which are a combination of Eastern and Western herbs. My favourite is called Energy (contains five different types of Ginseng) – designed to help relieve fatigue, irritability, tension and mild anxiety. Optimises physical performance and enhances energy production. Promotes vitality and a healthy immune system. Also helps with circulation.
As some of you may be aware, I am now working in remote Queensland at a mine site and I work shifts of up to 12 hours per day. I have been using the Energy supplements every day when I'm on the 5am shift and it really gives me that extra boost to get through the last few hours of the day. Because they are high potency liquid herbs made into a tablet form without fillers and buffers (commonly found in supermarket brands) you do actually notice a difference. A great test is to put whatever supplements you are currently using into a glass of warm water and see how long it takes for them to dissolve. If they contain fillers and buffers they will take a lot longer to dissolve, if at all. The Fusion range dissolve within a few minutes so they start working straight away when they enter your system. Another great one I have been using is the Coughs, Cold and Flu at the first sign of getting a sore throat or runny nose and the Immune tonic just to keep my immune system strong.
We thought this subject was a fitting way to introduce our Brand New business name, which we will be officially launching in June. Our new name is ‘Energy Massage and Beauty’. The name change has happened for a variety of reasons, the most important being that it will be easier for you to remember – especially important when referring us to your friends. Our products will remain unaffected by this change, however, the shop sign and business stationery will be given a new image.
The 30th June 2008 marks the celebration of ten years as a Massage Therapist for David. His experience and knowledge in the field of natural therapies has continued to grow and he is well respected within the industry. Congratulations David! Stay tuned for more details in next months newsletter. We are very excited to be able to share some of our Energy with all the people who cross our path, both in the clinic and shop as well as over the internet.
